Trade Training Officer - Electrical

This position is responsible to provide electrical trade and allied training for Thiess personnel in order to increase the productivity, maintenance and improve personnel’s capability, including to deliver effective theoretical training in accordance with Thiess standard; to develop, review, revise and amend training packages and lesson plans; to conduct assessment activities that meet company requirements; to be involved in the planning of training activities in order to optimise the training facilities and resources; and also to review apprentice weekly reports ensuring that the training is consistent with training requirements.
This role requires recognised Trade and / or mechanical/electrical engineering Qualifications or ex Thiess Apprentices with at least 5 year field experience; certificate IV in Training; understanding of Industry practice and standard; Familiar with Heavy equipments: Dozer (Caterpillar/Komatsu), Excavator (Hitachi/Komatsu/Liebherr), Ingersoll Rand Drills, Dump Truck (Caterpillar/Komatsu); ability to work effectively with others and related to colleagues and ability to cope with additional responsibilities; computer literacy and excellent English communication skill - written and verbal.
Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Risk and hazard assessment data; computing and modeling design and apply computer programs and models to characterize and predict rock and ground behavior by looking at rock properties and then varying the situation parameters whether they be geometrical, material, etc. to see how the model responds to the change; monitoring of the performance of the excavation pit and disposal slopes and evaluating whole geotechnical issue; deal with slope stability issues, erosion, and effects of weather conditions on the pit stability; evaluating and recommending geotechnical design and standard for mine planning, overburden, excavation and disposal construction; provide geotechnical analysis and recommendation
Applicants should have tertiary degree in Geology or Geological Engineering. Have previous experience at least 5years in similar role at mine site is preferred. Good communication skills in English and Bahasa, written & verbal, and Computer literacy. A working knowledge in mining principles, mining design concepts & operations, heavy machinery operation practices, Mincom or similar would be an advantage.
